Map Objective Control: Walker, Guardian, and Mid-Boss Timers
Mastering objective timers is key to winning games. Here is a breakdown of each objective's purpose, timing, and contest strategy.
Objective Roles
Guardian: The outer defensive structure on each lane; killing it releases a Walker.
Walker: A large pushing unit that drops a lot of Souls and pressures the enemy Base Guardian.
Base Guardian: The final defense before the base; killing it lets you attack the Patron.
Mid-Boss: A central boss that grants a strong team-wide buff when killed.
Rejuvenator: Killing it reduces respawn time for dead teammates and is crucial after teamfights.
Timers and Priority
Early game: prioritize pushing lanes to take Guardians and release Walkers.
When Soul Urn spawns, try to group as five; the payout is much larger than a single lane.
After Mid-Boss spawns, take it if your team is healthy, then rotate to push a lane.
Defense and Counter-Pushing
Don't stubbornly defend outer objectives. If the enemy groups for a Guardian, trade it for an objective on the opposite side of the map.
When defending a Walker, ranged heroes clear Troopers first while melee heroes focus the Walker. Supports should heal allies near the Walker.
