The Cursed Apple Map Guide
The only current Deadlock battlefield: a gothic Art-Deco slice of Manhattan with three lanes leading to the enemy Patron.
Map Overview
The Cursed Apple is Deadlock's default map (internal name dl_midtown). It is a supernatural, Art Deco-inspired reimagining of Midtown and Lower Manhattan in New York City, with The Hidden King and The Archmother at opposite ends. The map is split into three color-coded lanes: York (yellow), Broadway (blue/mid), and Park/Greenwich (green). Each lane must break through Guardian, Walker, Base Guardians, and Shrines before the Patron can be attacked. The central underground sewer holds the Mid-Boss; the jungle between lanes hides Denizen camps, Soul Urn delivery points, and timed Powerups. Ziplines, Teleporters, Air Vents, and Juke Rooms create a deeply vertical urban battleground.
Objectives
Guardian
The first defender in each lane. Destroying it unlocks the lane shop and a Flex item slot.
Walker
A large four-legged mech behind the Guardian. Killing it grants another Flex slot and opens the enemy base.
Base Guardians
A pair of weaker defensive towers guarding the base entrance. Both must fall before Shrines are exposed.
Shrines
Two structures inside the base. Both must be destroyed before the Patron becomes vulnerable.
Patron
The final win condition with two phases. Kill the second phase to win the match.
Mid-Boss
A massive neutral monster in the central sewer. Killing it drops the Rejuvenator team-revive buff.
Neutral Resources
Key Mechanics
- •Ziplines: high-speed wires over each lane that extend deeper as you push
- •Teleporters: underground portals with a 4-second channel for cross-map rotations
- •Juke Rooms: one-way dead-end tunnels used to hide or bait enemies
- •Golden Statues / Boxes: destructibles that can drop permanent stats or Souls
- •Secret Shops: neutral jungle shops for critical item replenishment
Tactical Tips
- ✓Start with a clear lane split such as 1-2-2-1 or 2-1-1-2 so every lane gains souls
- ✓For the first 10 minutes focus on last-hitting Troopers and collecting Soul Orbs
- ✓Medium and large jungle camps at 5:00 and 8:00 are team economy spikes—set vision early
- ✓Mid-Boss respawns every 7 minutes; secure it after winning the pit fight
- ✓In the late game focus one side of Base Guardians before rotating to Shrines
